Antelope Audio is led by Igor Levin, who began designing digital audio gear in 1990 under the brand Aardvark. His first product, an 18-bit SPDIF card, led to a set of A/D and D/A converters that required a clock. Although his converters sold well, it was the clock that became very popular. At the time, master audio clocks weren’t standalone products. Realizing the relevance and need for a reliable clock on the market, Levin marketed the AardSync, which can still be found in a few mastering studios today.
