Hailing from the small town of Byron, IL, Matter Myer was passionate about drumming from an early age. It all started when he first saw a Peter Frampton concert on VH1, featuring Shawn Pelton on drums. Years later, he would be selected as one of five drum set students to attend the University of Miami, where he honed his craft.
In addition to playing his drum kit, a trusty DW Collector’s Series kit in broken glass finish, Matt also experiments with synthesis and sound design using his Moog Grandmother and Ableton Live. When Matt’s not playing music, he enjoys hiking, tennis, cooking, and playing his PS5.
After graduation, Matt spent over a decade working at Apple Retail, where he was lucky enough to attend a few concerts at the renowned Apple Park. Now living in sunny Sherman Oaks, CA, Matt is eager to bring his skills to the Vintage King team. He’s most excited to collaborate with fellow musicians and help create custom workflows.
